The Alamo, Texas

If you're in Texas, you can't afford to miss The Alamo! Only a short distance from the famed San Antonio Riverwalk, the Alamo is the site where a small group of Texans stood against the Centralist army in 1836. With 4.2 acres of rich American history and special exhibits, Alamo is a symbol of the Texan pride.

Since 1905, the Alamo has been managed by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. There are three buildings in the surrounding area- the Shrine, Long Barrack Museum and the gift museum. Glance through the exhibits on the Texas revolution and history and enjoy a relaxing stroll in the beautiful Alamo gardens.

The best way to visit the place is to enter from the old church or modern shrine entry points. Check out Alamo's heroes inside the old church and afterwards watch the seventeen-minute film on the Alamo at the Clara Driscoll Theater in the Long Barrack Museum. Finally, move on to the gift museum. Here, you'll pick up plenty of unique keepsakes and souvenirs, too!
