Arikok National Wildlife Park

Arikok National Park has almost eighteen percent of Aruba's total area, preserving a wide variety of flora and fauna, including five species that are unique to it. While adventurers will find several engaging hiking trails all over, nature lovers can enjoy thier time in quest of the unique animals and birds.

While at the park, the Aruba island's rattlesnake, Aruba cat-eyed snake, Aruban whiptail lizard, the Aruban burrowing owl, and the Aruban parakeet will assault your senses! This park encompasses three types of geological formations- a quartz diorite formation, the Aruba lava formation and a limestone formation extending inward from the coastlin- each exerting tremendous influence in the indigenous vegetation and the island's history of human settlement itself.

The Arikok National Park is also home to the highest points in Aruba. Don't be surprised by the sings of mining here! There were huge gold deposist in the Arikok area, which resulted in extensive mining activities. Hiking trails for tourists are provided throughout all areas of the Park.
