Boiling Lake

Boiling Lake essentially conjures up pictures of an enormous cauldron of bubbling grayish-blue water enveloped in a cloud of vapor. Such are the breathtaking sights that beckon visitors to the shores of the world's second largest lake!

Undeniably, Boiling Lake will top your itinerary in Dominica. The lake is a part of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park. Put on your hiking boots and join the hordes of tourists who flock to Boiling. Start at the mountain village of Laudat, then climb and descend through the scenic forest trails via Titou Gorge and Breakfast River. The latter is a usually the first stop where you'll relax and have your breakfast.

Then head for the Panorama viewpoint and the Valley of Desolation, where steam and boiling water surface through numerous vents. This is the first point from where you'll see the Boiling Lake steaming in the distance. It's advisable to go hiking with as many people as possible. Better still, take a guided tour for a better understanding of the surroundings.
