Cayman Islands Locations......

Pristine beaches, forest reserves and bird sanctuaries, surf parks, historic buildings, submarines...there's an incredible array of attractions for vacationers in the Caribbean Islands. Grand Cayman, with historic landmarks like the castle of Pedro St. James and places like Bodden Town on the southern coast, is the busiest of all the Caymanian islands. The latter has an interesting pirate history.

The British overseas territory of the Cayman Islands lies in the calm, turquoise waters of the western Caribbean. A tropical paradise comprising of three islands- Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and the Little Cayman- located 480 miles south of Miami. Columbus is said to have sighted the islands in 1503 and named it as Lagartos. This name was later changed to Cayman, derived from the Carib Indian word, referring to the Caymanian crocodiles that once roamed the islands.

Little Cayman is the smallest island of the group. Attractions here are based mainly on nature, drawing eco-tourists from around the world. Cayman Brac is definitely a place to visit if you're looking for a tranquil holiday. The National Trust Parrot Reserve is a wonderful getaway for nature lovers, especially bird watchers. On your trip to the Cayman Islands, be sure to visit Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park and the Cayman Turtle Farm!
