Colombia Locations......

A lot more than just Coffee, Cocaine and Cartels, Colombia is a Latin American country with diverse terrain of mountains, valleys, deserts, beaches, lowlands and jungles. Although not popular as a top vacation spot, while traveling Colombia you will come across a fusion of shabby, colorful towns, Caribbean and Pacific coasts and wide Andean valleys. It's not just natural wonders that draw the few that come here; good food, great bars and fantastic coffee are a Colombian trademark, while the locals are reputed to be some of the friendliest and most welcoming. Since, the country is often plagued by Civil wars, it is always advisable for tourists to stick to main tourist areas.

The Colombian cities have distinct feature of their own. The big cities are Bogota, Medellin and Cali in the center; Baranquilla and Cartagena on the coast. The capital city Bogota seems like any other European city. It is the richest and most orderly place with the slums lying out to the south of the city. It's temperate climate all year long makes it the most desired destination in the country. Another major drawcard for tourists is the Spanish colonial port of Cartagena with its spectacular walled old town, a medieval wonderland of palaces, monasteries, plazas and overhanging balconies. Cartagena is the most beautiful city of the country and is a UN World Heritage Site.
