Costa Rica Locations......

One of Latin America's most popular travel destinations, Costa Rica is abuzz with visitors looking for an active holiday. The country invites with an incredibly diverse landscape and micro climates. Numerous jungle rivers meander through the heart of Costa Rica, making it an ideal ground for adrenalin rushing activities like whitewater rafting and kayaking. Nature lovers will not be disappointed, either.

In addition to the country's signature eco-tourism offerings, there are several luxury resorts and golf courses ideal for leisure travelers. Its beaches are packed with maddening crowds on a mission to surf some of North Americas best waters. While many of these beaches are visited by nesting sea turtles, the oceans nurture intricate coral formations, rugged islands, colorful schools of fish, and plentiful waves.

The strife that rocked Central America during much of the past two decades painted a less-than-rosy picture of the area, especially for most North Americans and Europeans. Amidst all the political unrest, Costa Rica has managed to remain an island of stability and peace. Interestingly, the country has no army- it was abolished in 1949. Costa Rica is also the region's most sturdy democracy, and the country enjoys a deep-rooted respect for human rights and freedom.
