Dominica Locations......

For those looking for more than a beach destination in the Caribbean, Dominica is a lush Caribbean country with abuzz of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Rugged hiking, scuba diving, birdwatching and snorkeling is all set to keep you busy at this exceptional Caribbean country. Lying in the Caribbean ring of fire, hundreds of pristine rivers along with hot springs, make it a place of contrasting natural wonders. Its varied flora and fauna has earned it the reputation of "The Nature Island of the Caribbean". Soaring high in the sky, virgin flora covers its dramatic mountains, creating breathtaking natural landscapes. Get ready to test your calf muscles because the island has the highest mountains in the Eastern Caribbean; the highest peak, Morne Diablotin, is 4747 feet (1447 m) high.

Discovered by Columbus in 1493, it sits midway along the Eastern Caribbean archipelago, just a few miles from Martinique to the south and Guadeloupe to the north. It is one of the less expensive islands in the Caribbean still inhabited by the community of the indigenous people, the Caribs. The capital city Roseau, is a friendly and vibrant city with French and British colonial structures and modern concrete buildings along narrow streets. With so much to visit and experience, this unspoilt tropical paradise is truly a wonderful place for a holiday away from the busy city life, and opportunity to enjoy nature.
