Great Harbor Cay, Berry Islands

The Great Harbor Cay is nestled on the best protected marinas and on the most developed Cay in The Berry Islands. Spend your day strolling the seven miles of soft white sands or simply laze around and wat for a tan. Less than an hour from the southeast Florida cities of West Palm beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami, this Cay is perfect for a tranquil getaway.

Apart from the beach, the breezy cay has a bewitching landscape of rolling hills, silvery thatch berry palms and an abundance of edible sea grapes. The terrain has elevations of up to 70 feet, which provide breathtaking vistas of the island and the changing hues of the blue ocean.

Once a major golf resort, Great Harbor used to be a playground for the rich. There's a nine-hole golf course, which is still in use. Every year, around May, thousands of fishing enthusiasts flock to the Cay to join the annual sportfishing tournament. This is one of the best times to visit Grand Harbor.

What's more, here, you'll meet the friendliest native people anywhere in the world! If you're visting for the sands, sink your feet into the crescent shaped powder sandbeach on eastern coast. This is the finest beach here. To the north is Sugar Beach, where cliffs of limestone dotted with caves rise above secluded coves and bays. To the south is Haines Cay, separated from Great Harbor Cay by a narrow creek, where sand dollars drift with the tide across broad white sand flats.
