Kangaroo Island

Situated aloof the mainland Australia, Kangaroo Island is the third largest island in Australia. It is an Island seven times the size of Singapore, containing an unlimited variety of wildlife and is a must see for anyone interested in the native wildlife of Australia. It is a place where you can wander along the pristine beaches dotted with the lazy seals, white penguins, or visit the wildlife reserves brimming with kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and emus.

The Islands numerous natural wonders, conservation parks, beaches are visited by tens and thousands of people each year. Due to its size and the number of things to do and discover, it is impossible to see it all in a day or 2. If you only have a day or two on your itinerary, choose places from the things that interest you most. Take a tour to savor the taste of fine wine or soak up the sun on the uncrowded beaches. Scuba diving and surfing are other popular choices for adventure lovers.

The Island was discovered by an English explorer Matthew Flinders in 1802, was visited shortly afterwards by a French explorer Nicolas Baudin and first settled by deserters from English and American whaling ships before official European settlement in 1836. The island's beautiful scenery is captivating and its relative isolation since the European settlement ensured rich wildlife in a protected environment. Visitors can reach here by sea or Air. The Kangaroo Island SeaLink offers a one-hour ferry journey from Cape Jervis on the Fleurieu Peninsula. You will also find plenty of accommodation option and some good restaurants scattered around the island. On foot or by car, Kangaroo Island is a fun to explore!
