Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter & Underwater World

Located at a short distance from downtown Auckland, Kelly Tarltons Antarctic Encounter & Underwater World is the ideal place to get close with the creatures of the Southern Oceans. Penguins, sharks, giant eels, stingrays and some other species of fish. You will find them all in this underwater fantasyland. Begin your journey in the Antarctic Encounter, where you’ll come across the life-sized hut of South Pole explorer, Captain Robert Falcon Scott.

After your Antarctic encounter; head to Stingray Bay, where you will see the largest Stingray weighing over 200kg with a wingspan of 2 metres! And if this interaction is not enough, then, step onto the moving walkway in the Underwater World, wher you’ll come face-to-face with a Broadnose Sevengill Shark, proudly displaying some of the most powerful jaws on the planet. As you make your way out of the tunnel, climbing up the stairs will take you towards the fish gallery. There are so many sea creatures for you to enjoy here, including the magical Seahorses, huge Crayfish and some of the worlds most poisonous and deadly fish like the Piranha.
