Kugluk (Bloddy Falls) Territorial Park, Nunavut

Explore this striking park located 15 km southwest of the community of Kugluktuk, around Bloody Falls on the lower Coppermine River. Bloody Falls was declared a National Historic Site in 1978. Today, the place is part of the Kugluk (Bloody Falls) Territorial Park in Nunavut. Visit the Innuit fishing camps. You'll be stunned at their expertise! Besides caribou, you may spot the barren-ground grizzly bears and wolverines. Bird species such as the Golden Eagle, Rough-legged Hawk, Peregrine Falcon, Gyrfalcon and Swallows can be sighted as well. You can see a large flock of Swallows in the cliffs around the falls, which is their prime nesting round. Although the park falls within the timberline area, you'll see only a few plant varieties here. Dwarf Willows and the black-tipped groundsel are most common plant species available.
