Masoala National Park

The largest of Madagascar's protected areas, Masola has an exceptional biodiversity. Spreading over 840-square-mile, the park encompasses rainforest, marsh and mangrove habitats, and is one of the few places where the primordial rainforest extends continuously from mountains to deep blue Bay of Antongil. From a great variety of bird species to an abundance of marine life, there is so much to see! Beyond the lush green forest, the park has unexplored beaches and three marine reserves, designed to protect the peninsula's coral reef systems. Humpback whales use the nearby Bay of Antongil for calving and can be easily seen from the park's coastline.

Masoala National Park is one of Madagascar’s richest ecosystems in the entire country. It has as many as ten lemur species, including white-fronted lemur, the nocturnal Eastern woolly lemur, Brown mouse lemur, and Eastern fork-marked lemur ans is the sole location for the Red-ruffed lemur. The park is a bird watcher’s delight, Helmet and Bernier's vangas, Red-breasted coua and Scaly ground-rollers can easily be spotted in the park's premises. This park houses Madagascar's wildlife and should be incluted into your tour itinerary.
