Philadelphia Museum of Art, Pennsylvania
At the Philadelphia Museum of Art, you'll see an enormous collection of over 225,000 objects, including the stellar collections of Van Gogh, Monet, Pissarro, Picasso, and Rodin. Each year the Museum puts on 15 to 20 special exhibitions that attracts thousands of people from all over the world. The museum opens six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday.
Completed in the late 1920s, the museum building is one of the city's most enduring landmarks and a paradigm of neo-classical architecture. If you're an artsy traveler, the museum is the best place to glance through one of the strongest permanent collections of art, from Italian Renaissance paintings to Japanese 'ukiyo-e' prints.
The two museum buildings, one offering state-of-the-art visitor amenities and study centers with matchless educational facilities, while the other, which is the main building, has 200 captivating galleries and a venue for changing exhibitions.
