Pico Bonito National Park

Nestled on the North Coast of Honduras near the Caribbean coastal town of La Ceiba, the Pico Bonito National Park is the largest and most beautiful national park of Honduras, inviting visitors with miles of virgin rainforest and cloudforest. It's so vast that one will find as many as seven different ecosystems within its borders!

Within the park, the peak of the Nombre de Dios mountain range is a hub of adventure activities. It's also the highest peak in Honduras. Exploring the tropical rainforest and broad leaf forests will open up fantastic vistas for wildlife adventures. On a typical day, over 325 species of birds as well as animals can be spotted here. Squirrels, monkeys, toucans, white tailed deer, mountain lions, river otters, and motmots are found in abundance.

Walk the trails or relax on the banks of river Zacate. Even if you're not staying at the Lodge at Pico Bonito, you can enjoy a savory meal in the restaurant with outstanding views of the mountains. There are several other Eco Lodges in the area, which offer rafting, hiking and horse riding tours.
